Lori Le Mare is an artist who is
proficient in the craft of decorative painting. This encompasses such
areas as murals, trompe l'oeil, restoration, marbling, woodgraining,
stone, gilding, polished plaster, painted furniture, painted ornament,
wall glazing, etc.
Lori is a teacher of decorative
painting and has had her own private school since 2000. She had
co-owned another school and decorative painting company with her former
partner Andrejs Ritins since 1988 (Ritins Studio). She has been
teaching since 1989. Her school is located in Hamilton Ontario Canada.
Lori has taught and worked
worldwide in the following places: Beijing China, Lucca Italy, Huismes
France, Baltimore, Mississippi, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas,
Sunset Beach, Chicago, Atlanta, Colorado Springs, Niagara-on-the-lake
Ontario, Calgary, Toronto. Her work is primarily in private residences
but can be seen in public places such as Casa Loma Toronto, Osgoode
Hall Toronto, Pillar & Post/Shaw Cafe Niagara-on-the-lake, Windsor
Casino, Niagara Casino, Beau Rivage Biloxi, Modern Masters Head Office
Los Angeles and CIBC Head Offices Toronto.
Lori has appeared in numerous
publications and television shows such as: Cityline (Citytv), The
Painted House (Debbie Travis), This Small Space (HGTV), Homestyle,
Craftscapes, CNN, CBC, House & Home, Toronto Star, Globe & Mail
and The Financial Post.
She has appeared and helped
produce six dvds: Ritins Studio Series, Modern Masters Venetian
Plaster, Introduction to Decorative Painting, Metallics, SkimStone and
Textures. Lori has acted as a consultant to Modern Masters in
developing their decorative paint line of products.
